Skycom Courier biz flourishes during Democratic National
Convention
Allston-based Skycom Courier, enlisted by Boston 2004 and the Boston Globe to courier Democratic National
Convention information, was one local business that flourished during the week-long event.
"We delivered everything from video tapes and press releases to free passes to the 'Baby James' /Pops concert at UMass and DNC goodies, said Scott Baker, Skycom president.
"It's amazing how much 'stuff' needs to get from here
to there, quickly and efficiently, during such major events," he
said.

Harvard University Procurement Management Department selects Skycom Courier vendor partner for its courier services
The Procurement Management Department (PMD) at Harvard University recently selected Skycom Courier as its vendor partner for the University's courier services.
"We needed a professional, reliable courier service to provide time-sensitive document and package deliveries to our campuses and the surrounding suburbs and were able to work with Skycom to negotiate significant discounted rates for vehicle and bike deliveries for Harvard customers," said Tara Spann, Contract Manager at the University.
One of Harvard's procurement goals is to provide access for small, local, minority and women-owned establishments to do business with Harvard. Skycom, a local minority-owned firm, also offered competitive pricing, flexibility and the level of service necessary to satisfy its courier needs.

Since the beginning of the relationship, Skycom has increased
its business at Harvard by nearly 30%, and significant future
expansion is anticipated. Skycom provided an incentive for Harvard to use its services by offering a fully integrated online system for placing orders, job tracking and real time signatures.
Skycom Courier "tapped" to provide courier services for MASCO
The Medical Academic and Scientific Community Organization (MASCO), representing over 12 major healthcare and educational institutions in Boston 's Longwood area, recently selected Boston-based Skycom Courier as its preferred delivery service vendor.
"Our institutional members often require the timely and safe delivery of sensitive documents and packages at a moment's notice. Skycom's professional reputation and online tracking and ordering expertise were key factors in our decision," said John Healey, director of MASCO's Collaborative Programs.
